On December 16th, the American Chamber of Commerce in Côte d’Ivoire (AmCham CI) hosted a private lunch at Abidjan Café Restaurant in Plateau. It was a Year End thank you gathering with the Platinum members and representatives of the US Embassy.

The topics of conversations were focused on the AMCHAM CI accomplishments in 2021 as well as AmCham’s Vision, Mission, and Strategy for 2022. It was an informal platform for members to discuss what they expected from their organization and also what they would like to see in the coming year 2022; ideas were shared also on strategies to adopt to make the AmCham sustainable and more relevant in the years ahead.
Representatives of the US Embassy POL COL secession Ms. Andrey Donnally expressed the willingness for more involvement from the US Embassy. This engagement coupled with new enrolments of members, more enthusiasm, and a precise events calendar should create a bigger footprint for US private sector presences.

Abidjan, November 27, 2021, the Digital and Technology Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Côte d’Ivoire (AMCHAM) in collaboration with the alumni association of Jean Mermoz international high school, organized an experience sharing meeting under the theme “Immersion in the digital world”.

This session allowed students to understand the digital world and to have an overview of the opportunities offered by this sector. To do this, we have selected entities operating in the digital world, namely: WAVE, UBER, VISA, and BNI Finances.

The digital and technology committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Côte d’Ivoire (AmchamCI) organized Thursday, November 25, 2021, a meeting on Digital introduction.

The exchanges of this workshop which recorded the participation of four experts, Houssène Ben Souda (EY), Kandas Camara (Visa), Antoine Djigbenou (CIE), and Modibo Samaké (Cnam), focused on digital issues, governance, the financial service, the factors of success and the vision of the future.

The American Chamber of Commerce in Cote d’Ivoire participated in the 1st Business and Investment Forum between Cote d’Ivoire and North America on Thursday 11 and Friday 12, November 2021 at the Radisson Blu Hotel. This Forum was organized by Economic Promotion of Cote d’Ivoire in the United States, Canada, and Mexico (SPECI-USA). This Forum saw the participation of many companies coming from all over the world to participate in the strengthening of private investment in Cote d’Ivoire.

It was chaired by the Minister Delegate to the Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Diaspora, Alcide Djédjé, in charge of African Integration, who indicated that the second edition of the Forum will be held in 2023.
In his speech, Alcide Djédjé, noted the importance of this forum, especially since, he underlines, the government has given priority to the private sectors in the implementation of the National Development Plan (Pnd 2021 -2025). The Minister Delegate in charge of African Integration, therefore, invited foreign investors to engage with Ivorians through win-win partnerships.

The president of the rice processors of Côte d’Ivoire, also vice-president of the Interprofessional Agricultural Organization of the Rice Sector (OIA Rice), Dr Diabaté Mory was the guest of the agriculture committee of the American Chamber of Commerce de Côte d’Ivoire (AmCham CI) this Wednesday, October 20, 2021, around the theme: “The keys to the success of rice production in Côte d’Ivoire in the 1970s”, in Abidjan-Cocody.

it was an AMCHAM honor to welcome His Excellency the U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, Richard K. Bell, who summarized the Biden-Harris priorities, explained the role and services of the U.S. Embassy in Côte d’Ivoire. Presented the heads of Security sections and Consular Sections. The ambassador also provided updates on US economic activities in Cote d’Ivoire. The secession finished with a question-and-answer session that allowed AmCham member a chance to interact and ask US Government and private sector topics.

The former regional representative of Africa Rice (ex-Adrao), moreover, general manager of the company MANY SA, Dr Amadou Moustapha BEYE, gave a public conference on Wednesday July 23 in Abidjan on the theme: “For an agricultural revolution and food in Africa.  Dreams are still allowed “.
This public conference, organized by the Committee on Agriculture of the American Chamber of Commerce, was an opportunity for the speaker, Dr Amadou Moustapha BEYE to share his long experience on various topics related to agriculture and food.

The American Chamber of Commerce held a JAZZ farewell on Friday, June 25, 2021.
This Jazz farewell event was organized to show our appreciation to Ms. April Wells for the constant support for the AMCHAM CIV, and her ongoing efforts to consolidate bilateral ties between the USA and Côte d’Ivoire. In the presences of U.S. Ambassador- M. Richard BELL, AMCHAM’s President -M. Yohannes MEKBEBE and many of April’s friends, colleagues, and AMCHAM’s members. The event was in honor of celebrating her hard work with the private sector and commitment to her job while in Cote d’Ivoire.

The American Chamber of Commerce held a conference on Saturday, February 27, 2021 in collaboration with Deloitte on the 2021 Tax Schedule. We have had the Honor of receiving illustrious members of various American and Ivorian companies operating in Côte d’Ivoire. This conference was an opportunity for us to bring together the various economic leaders of Côte d’Ivoire to discuss and guide our coordinated actions according to the new tax forecasts.
